Our VPS packages are all considered "self-managed", so you are responsible for the management of the virtual server. That being said our support team are more than happy to offer assistance where necessary, just open a support ticket via the support panel.

More in depth support may be chargeable, however we'll ask you to agree to the costs before continuing. Noone likes surprise invoices.
This really depends on what you plan on doing with your VPS.

OpenVZ are secure OS containers which share the kernel of their hypervisor. You will not be able to change the kernel version so will be stuck with the stable kernel that's running on the hypervisor (version 2.6.32).
On the flip side, OpenVZ gets nearly bear-metal performance and also allows us to perform online upgrades (RAM/CPU/SSD) for you if required. On top of this we can live migrate your server to another host if needed.

KVM VMs are fully virtualized, this includes virtualized hardware. This increased overhead may manifest as a very slight performance hit.
However, because you're running a fully virtualized environment you have complete control over the OS and kernel. This is ideal if you plan on running docker etc.

If you're still unsure which is best for you drop us a message asking for our opinion.
